This quotation truly explains the sanctity of life. But life is not the same as it used to be. The economic and social changes are to be blamed for this rapid transition. Our level of satisfaction is now tainted. There is an expectation of variety in everything that we undertake. This could be as simple as assortment in the menus of restaurants or the equipments at the gym.
I was surprised with the outlook towards fitness that one has nowadays. Gone are the days when a jog in the park and stretches on the bench with the support of trees were considered ideal for a uniform and toned physique. But the current demand for hi-tech gadgets that target to a specific body part has taken over. There are machines designed just for pumping up biceps or back. People select gym memberships depending on the number of machines that a particular gym offers. The bonus expectations are free steam and sauna with the package.
This need for variety also affects what we do in our free time. Some play a sport, others prefer reading or surfing the internet. The habit of reading has taken a different route with the advent of the blog. Creative writing is much needed to gain acceptance in this blog community. Writing a blog is easy as many do get away with incorrect or casual language and jargons but the one with creativity always draws out a large fan following.
I personally enjoy reading a lifestyle blog. It covers a lot of information and caters to a larger audience. It revolves around various aspects of our life whether it is diet or wellbeing, grooming and maintenance of the body including mental fitness. It contains social messages, hobby ideas and personal stories that make us feel that there is someone out there like us. Trends in clothes or gadgets, all the information are collected under one roof. Such blogs when interactive, where visitors post their comments and provide solutions actually develop into a very strong community. It becomes a home in the cyber world. Its numerous chains of thought ultimately join into one continuous flow of knowledge. The information that grows from a tender sapling to a plant, then a tree bearing fruits of hard labor bringing satisfaction to the writer and the readers. This reminds me of the banyan tree maybe because it has the ability to survive and grow for centuries and is often compared to the shelter given by God to his devotees. In Hinduism this tree has a lot of significance. It symbolizes the personality of a benevolent ruler or head of family who nourishes and looks after all those under his care.
Human life is a gift from God. So with a sound body and mind, it is our responsibility to shape ourselves and utilize our capabilities to the optimum level. In this way, we nurture our soul. But with a wayward life, filled with vices, we only deter and lose Grace from God.
